Who I Am

I'm Devraj Yadav, a product management aspirant whose perspective is grounded in direct customer experience. I combine user empathy, operational discipline, and AI product thinking to solve real, everyday problems.

My Journey

My path to product management wasn't conventional—and that is what makes my perspective valuable.

After high school, I spent several years preparing for medical entrance exams. Although that chapter did not go as planned, it strengthened my persistence and shaped how I approach problems. During that time, I became the person others turned to for help with phones, internet, and everyday digital tasks. Solving those problems efficiently showed me where I add the most value: helping people overcome real challenges.

That realization led me to customer service. In September 2022, I joined Firstsource Solutions Limited as a Senior Customer Service Associate, supporting a US-based telecommunications client. Over two years, I worked in a high-volume chat environment, managing up to 30 concurrent cases each day across billing, technical support, account management, and dispute resolution. I was consistently recognized as an Over-Achiever for exceeding customer satisfaction benchmarks.

I also gained sales exposure, always with a customer-first approach: ensuring customers understood the full value of what they already had before offering anything new. That instinct—understanding what users genuinely need before proposing a solution—became the foundation of how I think about products.

During a health-related break, I deepened that foundation by completing a certification in Product Management and Agentic AI from IIT Patna's Vishleshan i-Hub. The experience reinforced that product management begins with understanding users—their problems, frustrations, and unspoken needs. That was exactly what I had been doing for two years in customer service. My background was not a detour; it was preparation.

What Drives Me

Most people enter product management through engineering or business. I came through the user. That gives me a different lens: I consider how a product feels before I consider how it functions.

I'm most interested in software products that support everyday needs—travel, entertainment, telecom, and workforce management platforms such as shift-booking and scheduling tools for independent workers and facility teams. These products directly affect people's daily lives and livelihoods, so getting them right matters.
